Day 5 (Jan. 5)
Morning Weight: up 0.2 lb, with a total loss of 4.8 lbs since Day 1.
Up to work out at 5:30 a.m. Not as tired as I expected to be. Did just the treadmill for 17 minutes (HIIT).
Going up .2 lbs is not what I hoped for, but this cleanse is about much more than weight loss. It takes time for the body to clean itself out.
I think these are the reasons my weight did not go down today, even just a bit:
- I had about 2 hours less sleep than normal. I was up early to get ready to go back to work today. I have been getting extra sleep lately and had no real morning schedule I had to stick to.
- I did not exercise yesterday; I took a day off.
- I did not eat much yesterday. I really wasn’t hungry and partly that was being distracted and busy in the kitchen for a few hours. I am trying to listen to my body; if it isn’t asking for food, I am leaving it alone.
I did not feel as tired as I expected to this morning. We’ll see how the day goes, energy wise.
1 L of water down after workout.
I made a delicious fresh juice with beets this morning. I also added a chunk of raw sweet potato to the juicer to see how it went, and no problems.
Throughout the day I had two jars of smoothies and two mandarin oranges. After work, I made a banana blueberry smoothie.
For dinner, I made the raw zucchini pasta….again! I have really been enjoying it, and it is so easy to make. This time, I added chunks of mango to the pasta, and it was even better. I also added dates to the sauce. Equally yummy!
Had about 2 L of water.
