Day 18 (Jan. 18)
Morning Weight: up.8 lb, with a total loss of 9.0 lbs since Day 1.
I woke up in the middle of the night with a stuffy nose. I figured that my body wasn’t enjoying that salad dressing and cheese I ate last night. Or, it was a cold coming on. In the morning, it was gone, so I am confident that it was my body trying to push out the toxins in the food I ate.
Had a big sleep-in this morning, followed by a delicious fresh juice with celery, cucumber, apples, beets, collard green leaf and half a lime.
After drinking my juice, I got a little bit of a headache…hmmm…probably my body reacting to that dressing and cheese I ate last night. My body is trying to get the stuff out.
Later, I had a super green smoothie. I call is super green because I put in spirulina powder, a blue green algae that is rich in nutrients (protein, B12, enzymes, Vitamin K and others, fatty acids –GLA-, iodine, calcium, iron, magnesium, selenium, manganese, potassium and zinc). Now, it is debatable whether spirulina has a form of B12 that the body can use, but either way, it seems to have enough of a nutrition punch that I will use it a few times a week.
In the afternoon, I had a fruit smoothie with bananas, mixed berries and a little romaine lettuce
For dinner I made a big salad with: cabbage, kale, rainbow chard, tomato, red onion, avocado, pear, and capers with a dressing of blended mango, parsley and sea salt.
Dessert was raspberries and blueberries.
I drank maybe half a litre of water today.
